Cutting costs through water coordination
The revision of the entire effluent system means that all uncontaminated effluent can systematically be returned directly to the water cycle via the rainwater duct. The measuring station installed at the outlet from the site measures the exact volume and also the degree of contamination, so that a detailed effluent invoice can be drawn up. The cost of charges by the effluent treatment plant has been reduced substantially in the past few years!
Water treatment plants
SFS has two effluent treatment plants. The process in the effluent treatment plant at PWH has been optimised in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency.
The plant operated by the in-house electroplating department is equipped with a cyanide detection system.
