Emissions 2005

Gaseous emissions we can influence are: CO2, or so-called greenhouse gases, NOx and NMVOC (non methane volatile organic compounds) which cause smog; and SOx which give rise to acid rain.

Carbon dioxide emissions, sulphur oxides emissions and the emissions of oxides of nitrogen were all reduced by around 1% compared with 2004. Meanwhile NMVOC emissions were reduced by no less than 35% over the previous year by the use of different solvents.

In absolute terms CO2 emissions, sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides all increased by around 2%, while NMVOC were indeed reduced overall by about a third.
