During sintering, the blanks are transformed into solid components at temperatures below the melting point of the raw material. The metal particles are bound together by diffusion.
The porous components achieve the highest tensile characteristics in high temperature sintering (1250°C).
Critical factors:
- temperature and time
- geometry of the powder grains
- chemical composition of the powder mix
- density of the blanks achieved
- furnace conditions
