SFS INTEC SETS NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARD FOR ON-TIME DELIVERIES

Leading door hinge and fastening systems manufacturer SFS intec has raised the bar on delivery performance by coming within a whisker of the 100 per cent mark for on-time deliveries during the first quarter of 2009.

Through a combined approach of continued investment in state of the art logistics technology and regular communication with customers, the company is able to accurately forecast and manage customer orders to ensure door hinges and fasteners arrive in the right quantities at the right time.

Internal figures for the first quarter of this year show that SFS intec has delivered on-time to door and window industry customers on 99.8 per cent of occasions.

Nigel Wood, SFS intec’s hinge technology product manager says, “We never forget how being let down on deliveries can have a serious impact on the ability of fabricators and installers to maintain their own service levels. That’s why we work hard to stick to our delivery promises, working in close conjunction with our customers and continuously looking at how we can improve things further.”

SFS intec is one of only a handful of hardware suppliers still designing and manufacturing all its products in Europe, in technologically advanced factories in Switzerland, France and Italy. That adds an important degree to supply-chain reliability and means the company can plan its production and delivery schedules with great accuracy, and it removes the long lead times and unpredictable delays associated with hardware supplied from the Far East.

“With the current ‘buyers market’, letting down your customers in these tough times could have a more serious impact than ever before,” adds Nigel. “So avoiding the risk by choosing a reliable supply chain partner is key to the long term success of fabricators.”

From its UK headquarters in Leeds, SFS intec supplies a variety of hinges for PVC-U, composite and timber entrance doors, plus a market leading range of high performance fasteners for all common door and window installations. The company pioneered austenitic stainless steel fasteners in the UK over 20 years ago and it continues to lead the market today, with advanced door hinges and fastening systems backed by its unrivalled customer service and supply chain technology.
