For Part L from April ’06 the thermal performance of a building will be regarded as an integral whole. This means that all breaks and gaps must be treated as part of the envelope, and the building’s air tightness integrity will be pressure and smoke tested.
As well as the austenitic fasteners you need, the Security+ package includes fully warranted sealants, gaskets and other ancillaries required to achieve compliance no matter how rigorous Part L becomes.
