Water and effluent

The quantity of contaminated effluent has been reduced substantially for some years by systematic separation of cooling water and effluent. Uncontaminated cooling water can thus be fed directly into the neighbouring inland waterway via the rainwater duct.

An oil detection system installed upstream for safety reasons actuates an alarm in the event of minimal contamination.
