During deep drawing, flat sheet metal sections are transformed into small-section containers. A punch presses the starting material, sometimes called a platen, into a die.
Supported by a press retainer, the material flows exclusively forwards between the narrow gap between the punch and die, without any creasing. A wide range of secondary operations and surface finishes round off the options available.
