Composite purlins and doubling up

Producing slip-free connections between two timber sections lying on top of one another has always been problematical. Moreover, available solutions were visible, which might not be desirable from an aesthetic aspect.

Using System WT fasteners offers a distinct advantage as they enable the critical forces to be taken up, thanks to the double threading.

That de-stresses the critical zones, and, of course, WT fasteners can be hidden in the wood, offering aesthetic appeal and increased fire strength.

Ease of working

WT fasteners are inserted without pre-drilling. Thanks to the precise head-profile, they can be easily let into the surface where required. That means they can be inserted at more or less any depth; i.e. where the forces need to be taken up. They can also be inserted from the "blind side".

System WT fasteners produce secure, precise bonds without glue; avoiding potential health and safety issues. Ease of application increases operator security and speeds up the job. "Win/win" with WT.
