The IMDS is a data base which monitors, via internet material data sheets with material groupings, all the parts used in automobile manufacture.
Suppliers to vehicle producers and the first tier are responsible for registering their companies as IMDS users, in order to obtain a company ID, user ID and password. IMDS is available to you at the following address: .

Following the amendment to the Appendix of the European Parliament Directive 2000/53/EG on End of Life Vehicles, the ban on the heavy metals lead, mercury, cadmium and chrome VI will be effected from 01. July 2007. Thanks to IMDS, the necessary information on the make up of components can be accessed and adherence to the End of Life Vehicle Directive can be ensured.
